Coronavirus and Infection Control

UPDATE MAY 2022: WE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW NATIONAL GUIDANCE FOR HEALTHCARE PREMISES AND RECOMMEND PATIENTS  WEAR A FACE COVERING IF ATTENDING THE PRACTICE. THANK YOU.

We close on Bank Holidays. If you have a minor eye problem your pharmacist can often provide advice and medication or your GP or NHS 111. You can also use the Find a Practice function on Primaryeyecare.co.uk for the CUES service. *

FOR A SERIOUS URGENT EYE PROBLEM THAT CANNOT WAIT GO TO ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY.

We are booking routine appointments but apologise that we are behind in sending out recall letters for NHS sight tests . Please call us if you would like to book an eye examination, need some new glasses, or for any other help. We continue to offer emergency appointments in the CUES service* if you have urgent symptoms.

We are carrying out face to face appointments and sometimes telemedicine when appropriate. If you are shielding or self isolating but have an eye or vision problem, please phone for advice and triage.

In line with May 2022 national guidance for healthcare settings staff are still carrying out regular lateral flow testing. We are still required to wear PPE and to recommend patients who attend the practice to wear a face mask. We have appropriate infection control in place including disinfection of equipment but we are no longer required to apply social distancing.

*CUES is the Stockport Community Urgent Eyecare Service and is an NHS funded service for recent onset eye and vision problems. We can treat minor eye conditions and refer more serious problems directly to hospital with diagnostic images. Examples of conditions seen are foreign body in the eye, sudden loss of vision, painful eye.
